The Pathways STAIR Navigation Center, or Pathways, has successfully rehoused 101 people during its first year of operation; some community homeless advocates believe more can be done to address the homeless crisis in the city of Berkeley, however.

‘Housing is a human right’: Berkeley homeless services provide rehabilitation

Over the course of one year, at least 2,000 people in Berkeley experience homelessness for some period of time, according to information gathered by the city’s Health, Housing and Community Services department.

City Council hears Pathways Center updates, recommendations for cannabis regulation

Twenty people have found permanent housing through Berkeley’s Pathways STAIR Navigation Center since its opening in June, according to a presentation heard by the Berkeley City Council in its special meeting Tuesday.

Pathways STAIR Navigation Center secures housing for homeless couple

The center can house up to 45 people, who turn to the shelter to eat meals, take a shower, use laundry facilities and, in some cases, find permanent housing.

City Council to discuss cannabis regulation, Pathways STAIR Navigation Center progress

The council will evaluate the Pathways STAIR Navigation Center’s first six weeks of operation after its opening in June 2018. It is set to review a Berkeley Health, Housing and Community Services, or HHCS, staff report that compiled data “on existing program metrics” and included five interview responses from center clients.
