Sunday morning, men's crew swept the Intercollegiate Rowing Association championships for the first time in Cal history, becoming back-to-back champions.

Women’s crew finished out its season with an eighth-place in the national championships while the men’s team is off to the races this weekend.

After placing third at the Pac-12 Championships, the Bears will begin the heat races Friday morning for the NCAA championships in Camden, New Jersey.

Fossil Free Research and Data for Progress released a report Wednesday on fossil fuel funding at prominent U.S. universities. Campus has received $155.9 million from big oil and fossil fuel companies between 2010 and 2020.  

As Shelton was battling it out in Melbourne, college teams across the country, including No. 11 Cal, participated in the ITA Kickoff Weekend, vying for a spot at the Indoor Nationals in Seattle. While the Bears beat Princeton 4-1 on Friday, San Diego got the better of Cal on Saturday, also with a 4-1 win.

The No. 11 Bears play Princeton on Friday; if they win, they will face the winning team of the Georgia Tech-USD match come Saturday.

Bears attempt for their next back-to-back NCAA Championship; Cal will enter as the No. 1 seed and begin the tournament in the semifinals.

The Bears fly to Annapolis with the hopes of starting the season on the right foot following their 2021 NCAA Championship title.

The Bears hope to make a strong start at the Navy Open in Annapolis, in which they will play Navy, Bucknell, Princeton and George Washington on Sept. 4.

The 6’6”, 280-pound tackle declared his intention to commit to Princeton in a post on Twitter and thanked both the Cal football program and the coaches at Princeton when explaining his decision.
