Cal men’s basketball topples Washington State for second conference win

A week ago, the prospect of some sort of fairy-tale ending for Cal men’s basketball (7-22, 2-15), which has recorded one of the worst seasons in program history, was a laughable, unimaginable concept. Yet the Bears are in the midst of writing a magical ending to a nightmare of a season.

Any chance that Cal men’s basketball would carry residual energy from its last few contests was eviscerated by Boatwright, who poured in 36 points and a program-record 10 3-pointers to lead USC’s 89-66 onslaught.
