U.S. News and World Report announced Monday that it will revamp its methodology for ranking law school programs starting in 2023-2024, after various law schools, including Berkeley Law, publicly rebuked the previous system and opted out.

As an institution of both higher learning and world-class research, UC Berkeley has had a long history of engaging in research efforts with professionals from around the world.

UC Berkeley ranked fourth in the 2022-23 U.S. News & World Report Best Global Universities rankings, claiming its spot as the No. 1 public university in the world.

UC Berkeley was ranked as the world’s top public university and fourth-best overall in the U.S. News & World Report rankings published Tuesday, with a score of 89.8 on a scale of zero to 100.

UC Berkeley had been providing inaccurate data regarding alumni donation rates to U.S. News “since at least 2014,” according to the publication.

U.S. News has been ranking universities within the United States for more than three decades, according to U.S. News chief data strategist Robert Morse.

UC Berkeley is once again ranked as the best public university in the world, according to the 2018 Best Global Universities Rankings, released Tuesday by the U.S. News & World Report.
