Berkeley Police Department found guns during traffic stops three times last week, a BPD cases of community interest Nixle alert reported Tuesday afternoon.

A Berkeley resident carrying a replica firearm that had been modified to resemble an air rifle was detained and arrested by Berkeley Police Department, or BPD, early Saturday morning, according to a Nixle alert released Tuesday afternoon.

On Feb. 13 at 11 p.m., officers responded to a traffic collision involving a vehicle that ran into the side of a building at 2228 San Pablo Ave., according to a Berkeley Police Department, or BPD, Nixle alert on Feb. 20.

KC’s BBQ is fighting a notice of violation from the City of Berkeley to cease and desist from using their outdoor smoker, an order that was issued after the City conducted several inspections in response to complaints from neighbors about the smoke.
