Clearly, the Bears have hit a rough patch after hinting at flashes of promise earlier in the season, and unfortunately for the blue and gold, their upcoming opponent seems more than capable of extending their misery.

At the UC Board of Regents meeting in July, the board will vote to appoint Weddle as the 2018-19 UC student regent-designate. According to the UC regents special committee that nominated her, Weddle was selected out of 40 applicants from campuses across the UC.

For their second game, Cal played host to San Diego State; the two schools have apparently made it an annual tradition to determine their matchups by the final possession.

The game marked Cal’s third full 80-minute, 15-a-side match and the third time the Bears recorded 13 tries in a game.

This style of play, however, requires fresh legs in the team, as the Bears are coming in to an eight-day stretch where they will be playing five 80-minute games, four of which will varsity matchups.
