Southside Complete Streets

On May 2, 2017, the city of Berkeley approved the Berkeley Bicycle Plan 2017. The plan recommended a network of bike facilities that would connect Berkeley as a whole, making it possible for people to get around without unsafe intersections and high volumes of traffic.

As Berkeley’s Southside Complete Streets project considers redesigning Telegraph Avenue, community members are imagining the thoroughfare without cars.

As part of efforts to revitalize the city's infrastructure, Berkeley City Council voted to approve a contract for the enactment of the Southside Complete Streets project Tuesday. The council also agreed to apply for a $6 million Alameda County Transportation Commission grant that would go towards the Telegraph Avenue Complete Streets project.
