Chancellor Carol Christ responds to Bears for Palestine cubicle display bill

UC Berkeley Chancellor Carol Christ released two letters Feb. 18 responding to an ASUC bill that would have condemned a cubicle display by Bears for Palestine in Eshleman Hall that included photos of controversial Palestinian activists — some of whom had allegedly been involved in acts of terrorism.

Wednesday afternoon — the 150th birthday of Mohandas Gandhi — members of the UC Berkeley Sikh Student Association and other Indian student organizations gathered under Sather Gate holding signs that said “Gandhi was anti-Sikh” and “Gandhi was a sex offender.”
