Cal suffered a 0-4 loss against undefeated Stanford on Friday, marking its most significant shutout loss of the season. The Bears’ final conference record is 4-3-4, with their overall of 7-6-6.

The Bears were searching for wins this weekend but came out with their first two conference losses of the season instead. UCLA and USC both defeated Cal 2-0.

In what will doubtless be its toughest test of the season so far, Cal women’s soccer heads to No. 2 UCLA — the reigning national champions — this Thursday.

Cal women’s soccer had historic back-to-back wins this weekend, defeating Oregon 8-1 and Oregon State 3-0. The match against the Ducks displayed the Bears’ offensive prowess, putting up the highest total recorded scores in a game since the 2010 season.

Though fall is finally approaching with cooler weather and foggy skies, Arizona and Arizona State will bring the heat back to the Bay this weekend. After a win at Washington, Cal women’s soccer will return to Edwards Stadium for two matchups Thursday and Sunday.

Kylie Kerr and the Bears host Utah Valley on Friday after a brutal home loss to Cal Fullerton.

After a scoreless tie against Santa Clara last Thursday, the Bears had a rough first half Sunday against Fullerton that was destined for a similar fate until Fullerton scored a penalty kick in the second half that lost Cal the game.

Cal women’s soccer sealed the season’s first wins in style, beating USF and Cal Poly 2-0 and 5-1, respectively.

With a few bumps in the beginning of the season, the Bears are now heading into this week's games on a high. Following wins against USF and Cal Poly, Cal is set to play Santa Clara Thursday afternoon.
