After an eventful weekend down in Los Angeles, Cal volleyball added both a victory and a loss to its record. Despite winning earlier on in the season, the Bears fell to No. 24 USC but triumphed over UCLA — whom they had been swept by back on Oct. 13.

This weekend, the Bears will be migrating out of Bear Territory and into a familiar southern territory — Los Angeles. Cal will be facing long-time rivals USC and UCLA on Friday and Sunday, respectively.

With such a rich history between both teams, this match promises to be a fitting finale to the teams’ Pac-12 legacies. 

I come to you today with a comprehensive list explaining to you why I think each of the football games Cal has played this season is a certain zodiac sign.

The Bears were searching for wins this weekend but came out with their first two conference losses of the season instead. UCLA and USC both defeated Cal 2-0.

Cal (3-4) took on USC (6-2) in its fifth Pac-12 competition of the season on Saturday afternoon. In a high-scoring heartbreaker for fans, the Bears lost 50-49.

Football beat writer Kenzo Fukuda sat down with Daily Trojan sports writer and football beat writer Jack Hallinan to talk about USC’s upcoming game against Cal.

The Bears hosted UCLA in Haas Pavilion on Friday, losing three straight sets and giving the Bruins a swift win. Completely turning things around the next day, however, Cal came out Sunday afternoon and left it all out on the court to beat USC. 

Despite a valiant comeback effort in singles, the Bears fell to their longtime rivals 4-3.

While Cal went into the weekend with a four-game losing streak, it turned its around momentum with a resounding 4-0 victory over UCLA and a thrilling 4-3 comeback against USC.
