UC Berkeley’s plans to convert People’s Park can now be brought to fruition, following approval from the UC Board of Regents. 

In their first day of fall meetings, the UC Regents heard public comment, reviewed the university’s investment portfolios and discussed recent developments at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. 

As part of its commitment to public accountability, the UC system released its annual report on systemwide employee compensation for the 2020 calendar year.

Almost 200 people came together Saturday at a Zoom rally hosted by the University Council-American Federation of Teachers, or UC-AFT, to demand a fair contract for UC lecturers and demonstrate their willingness to strike.

Nearly 200 people gathered at a Zoom rally to participate in a virtual rally Monday at 1 p.m. to call on the UC Office of the President to settle a new teaching faculty contract and reappointment process.

The University Council-American Federation of Teachers, or UC-AFT, presented its compensation proposal and answered questions from UC negotiators about their job stability proposal at a bargaining session Jan. 21.

The UC would collapse without lecturers. And yet, members of the University Council-American Federation of Teachers have been contractless for 18 months.
