Residents of University Village in Albany, or UVA, have been pushing for rent forgiveness, engaging in a rent strike that has been occurring for about one year. The advocacy for rent forgiveness comes in light of the continued impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

AFSCME Local 3299 to stage 3-day strike, citing job outsourcing

The UC’s largest employee union — the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Local 3299, or AFSCME Local 3299 — is set to go on strike from Oct. 23 through Oct. 25, during which UC patient care technical workers will stage walkouts at all UC medical centers.
