Vincent Bryant, who had been previously charged with multiple felonies in January, is now suing the city of Berkeley and the Berkeley Police Department on allegations of overall misconduct during his arrest.

In response to community interest and in order comply with state law, Berkeley Police Department released a community briefing video Saturday regarding a police shooting that took place Jan. 2.

Berkeley Copwatch, an organization formed in 1990 with the intention to “empower and unite the community to resist police abuse” through education and supervision, hosted a virtual forum Wednesday highlighting five events of alleged racist policing in Berkeley during the pandemic. 

The Alameda County District Attorney's Office charged 51-year-old Vincent Bryant on Wednesday with multiple violent felonies, including second-degree robbery, use of a deadly weapon and assault upon a police officer.
