ASUC officials introduced four bills and announced a number of measures and events at the ASUC Senate’s regular meeting on Wednesday.

After weeks of deliberation, the ASUC Senate passed a resolution revoking funding and support for the Cal Interfraternity Council, or IFC, at its Wednesday meeting.

The ASUC Senate advocated for students’ needs to UC Berkeley administration, focusing on campus operations, at its weekly meeting Wednesday.

After the 2020 ASUC elections, the current executive officers’ term is coming to a close. COVID-19 has created a unique situation on campus and while all executives continue work on their platforms, most found themselves adjusting their plans to address current campus needs.

As we enter the first week of the second month of this year, perhaps we can utilize the new year’s theme of self-improvement to improve our external community. 

ASUC Senator Jenny Jungmin Kim announced her resignation at the second ASUC Senate meeting of the semester Wednesday, during which controversies behind potential campus partnerships with religiously-affiliated hospitals were also discussed.

Wednesday is the final regular ASUC senate meeting, drawing a close to the 2016-17 executive slate’s term.

When polls open across the country Tuesday morning, more than 7,700 newly registered UC Berkeley students will be casting their ballots in the local, state and national elections.

The rain stopped just in time Friday night for Votechella, a musical event aimed at registering student voters that was co-sponsored by ASUC SUPERB, the Residence Hall Assembly and ASUC Office of the External Affairs Vice President.
